New Haven, CT— Untouched

September 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$20

Ravenna Michalsen will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Ave. The concert is supported by a grant from the 2022 Artists Respond program from the State of CT.

“I’m a cellist based in New Haven and believe climate change and the biodiversity crisis are the most pressing issues of our times, and that there are so many complex emotions accompanying the changes we are both witnessing and participating in,” said Michalsen. “These concerts are a means to appreciate the earth (through the piano music of Amy Beach), acknowledge the changes (through the John Luther Adams string quartet “Untouched”), and grieve so much destruction (through the Popper Requiem for Three Cellos). Musicians include Nora Bartosik, Patrick Doane, Simon Bilyk, Suzanne Wagor, Rebecca Patterson, Sara Bennett-Wolfe and myself.

Tickets are $20. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Students attend for free. All are welcome. Please bring a mask.
